drinking the green kool-aid

Green kool-aid is how I like to describe the cult-like experience of raw food, or really any crazy diet. People always seem half-fascinated and half-horrified by my commitment to cleaning my colon, so I thought I'd share my experiences in excruciating detail. As with any train wreck, it's hard to look away. Nonetheless, I've managed to pick up some comrades along the way, as a result of my dear friends' curiosity and solidarity. Others interested in drinking the green kool-aid, holla.

day 2.

doing better, falling back in the swing of things.

- green shake (remember me?)
- 10 almonds
- salad: cabbage, cilantro, half of an avocado
- a nectarine
- half of a package of tempeh (not sure if it counts as raw, but it is fermented, so i say it's ok. when i look at the mold i'm eating, i feel like i'm doing myself a favor)
- a whole lot of veggie chips
- a couple of dried apricots

not too bad, but the food is already tiresome. the problem is that i'm leaving for nyc tomorrow so i didn't feel like i should buy a bunch of produce and then skip town. oh well.

As a rather random party in all this, and with little/no interest in any outcomes (whether immediate (ie. your poo) or long-term (ie. the fact that, no doubt, you'll out-live me with your healthy eating)) I can only ask but one question -- why? Why do this? What ever happened to, you know, moderation? Some of this, some of that and we're all happy in the morning, right? Yikes!
