drinking the green kool-aid

Green kool-aid is how I like to describe the cult-like experience of raw food, or really any crazy diet. People always seem half-fascinated and half-horrified by my commitment to cleaning my colon, so I thought I'd share my experiences in excruciating detail. As with any train wreck, it's hard to look away. Nonetheless, I've managed to pick up some comrades along the way, as a result of my dear friends' curiosity and solidarity. Others interested in drinking the green kool-aid, holla.

day 8. a bit too tired for witty titles.

I'm at this weird point of raw: On one hand, I'm sort of sick of it. I could use some real food, some more pizza, some wine... On the other hand, I'm definitely at the point where I no longer really care about food or eating. Nothing sounds terribly good or terribly bad to me. I'm glad I managed to pick up some produce over the weekend because I think that will be the inspiration to do some prep and get me through the rest of the week.

-- green shake
-- banana with almond butter (lots!)
-- raw tabouli with an avocado
-- apple
-- mrs. may bar (quickly becoming a staple)

I burned my flax crackers last night. They somehow managed to get very crispy (they're supposed to be chewy) and completely melded on to the wax paper I lined my pans with. I tried peeling off the wax paper, but it's just not happening. Oh well. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm sure I have more to report on what's happening with my bowel movements, but I'm feeling a little skittish about it. I just don't know if we have that kind of relationship.
